can you get arrested for yelling at someone from your car?

I was in the super market (safeway) parking lot. and there was many cars stop in front of me. Form my passenger side i see this huge dodge ram backing up, i freaked and i yelled HEY. he looks at me and says GO, i yell “THERE’S CARS IN FRONT OF ME JACKA$$!”. he follows me until i park, he gets out of his truck leaves the family in there to hold up traffic, he tells me, he will not be threaten in front of his family, his an off duty cop and says next time he will arrest me or have someone arrest me. Can he really do that? What about the first amendment? I live in Arizona.

wise words of advise. don’t yell at people that drive ram 2500’s or 3500’s. he didn’t have the right to do what he did you were just letting him know you were there. but I can understand why he started backing up they’re harder than hell to see out of with as high as they sit so I can understand why he was backing up but in a situation like that you do have the right to alert him. calling him jackas* wan’t the smart thing to do in that situation don’t know a whole lot about the lwas in arizona but it’s considered “harassment” around here. using your horn is a better thing to do in that situation I suppose. it’s to bad he didn’t make a worse threat because you could’ve got him suspended from the force or even fired (you wouldn’t have as much bacon though). but next time use your horn is my suggestion. actually you probably should’ve let him hit you. then you’ve got an insurance claim and it goes on his record which in my state can get you fired pretty quickly. if it happens again let him hit you.
