Anybody know of free internet resources for improving my German listening comprehension?
I have been studying German with the Michel Thomas method. It teaches one german remarkably quickly.
However, last time I was in Germany I found that I could speak and be understood in german but when people responded I had no ability to understand.
Conversely, in Spanish, I can understand the spoken language but cannot form sentences fast enough to participate in conversation. I live in a Spanish speaking community so I get lots of listening practice.
I would like to develop my ability to understand spoken German. Does anybody know of any podcasts or audio downloads that will help me practice this skill?

I found that one of the best ways to do that is to listen to music in that language. Try the band Silbermond, they’re amazing 
I also do searches on youtube.com, that should give you some German audio to listen too.
