I live in Maryland and sent in my Articles of Organization for Ideal Images, LLC. This exact name is available, however as I was looking around online, I found a car detail shop with the name Ideal Image, LLC. My business deals in personal fitness training so the fields are nowhere close to one another. Will this still be accepted? It takes up to 8 weeks to get a response from the State, so I was hoping to get an idea sooner. Secondly, could I pick another name for my company and get a Doing Business As Ideal Images? For example- Healthy Bodies, LLC DBA Ideal Images.

Typically, a state will not issue a like name to another entity, unless there is a naming method to distinguish the two. Example (Ideal Images Manufacturing vs Ideal Images Fitness Centers)
Typically, obtaining a DBA (Doing Business As) (aka TradeName) is also a function of the state. A federal Trademark, however, is obtained through the USPTO (US Patent and Trade Office).
So you are likely to run into the same problem using “Ideal Images” as a DBA as you would having it as your Organization’s name.
To expedite your name selection process, stop by the Secretary of State office typically located in your capital and turn in the paperwork for the TradeName. Many times a clerk can look the names up for you on the spot and save you a lot of time guessing their decision process. The clerk will not be able to give you the final okay on the spot, but certainly can offer some suggestions to save you time (sometimes the back and forth game can go weeks and drive you nuts)
Suggestion: If the name “Ideal Images” won’t fly, try “Ideal Images Fitness Center”
You should determine if the car detail shop created their LLC in Maryland or another state.
