what is the cheapest way to listen in on my local police frequency and how less can i get away with spending?
Hello,
I live in Jax., Florida and I would like to be able to listen to my local police scanner live just to use this new radio abbreviations and police codes I have recently downloaded…also i could know what is going on in my comminity.
What is the cheapest way to listen in to the Jacksonville Sheriffs Office frequency?
I cannot find a live stream free on the web.
How would i go about finding a home unit that I will understand how to make it work on whatever my local police frequency is? How do I find out how to set up the scanner, say if I find a good deal on a used one on eBay from some other part of the country…would that one pick up my local cops, or would I need to put some different crystal in it or something? This is new to me.
Also, I do not need a handheld portable unit, I like the permabnent desktop kind of scanner, if i cant do it wilh my pc..
what is the cheapes way? If there even maybe a FREE method?
