Free Living Will Law
Is Gods plan for you only for your salvation and free will for the smaller decisions like I.E. career choices?
There are scriptures like Jeremiah that say I know the plans I have for you, plans to prosper you not to harm you.
It also says in proverbs a man plans with his heart but the Lords plans will stand.
there is an additional scripture that says all the steps in front of you are from the Lord.
So Does it matter at all what career I choose because I am torn between staying in my home town … Where i do not want to be and have zero hope of a future Or going away to law school which will be three years of …Well law school and living in poverty to get by.
I guess I am torn between doing my own will and doing Gods will. I want to do what He would want.
But… realistically, who wants to spend three years in poverty suffering through law school?? Is my not wanting to be here a big sign to pursue something else? On the other hand getting into the school I want to and living in NYC is not going to be so easy. I will need God on my side.
I guess what it boils down to is, who do you put first? God or yourself? God isn’t going to make plans for you that he doesn’t first put the desire into your heart… Yes, it does matter what career path you choose; it is a process called discernment; but many Christians shoot from the hip, and say to God, follow me! [instead, lead me Lord!]
and does it work out? it may; God can turn any situation into good; I didn’t think much about which direction I was going to take, I was hoping to get married; so my career choices – that I thought were so random, have built upon each other to the point, that I have been in the right place for the right job; because now – it is not willy nilly; I now trust that the Lord will provide for me – in whatever I need… He has turned me from a goat into a sheep; I couldn’t bear to think one day without his direction – God is good all the time!
All I know is, those who let God lead them are generally much happier than those who lead themselves by the nose. I am sure, God is on yourside, just be sure, you are on his!
