free living will with children
Why would anyone think it’s a RESPONSIBLITY to have children just because you are married?

I don’t want kids and neither does my husband. I am 25 and he is 30. Maybe we will change our minds someday, maybe not, in the mean time we are living life child-free and very happy! Many of my friends have kids, and that’s fine, that is their choice, I’m happy for them if they are happy! However, apparently there are people out there that think having kids is what you HAVE to do once you got married. My husband and I got married to make the ultimate commitment to each other. I love him with all my heart and his is truly my best friend. So look at what this Y!A person said to me: http://answers.yahoo.com/question/index;_ylt=AmWOlobNKUVpbiZS_5hXGofty6IX;_ylv=3?qid=20080723124843AAA72cT

Am I wrong here? Isn’t she crazy????? I don’t think I am immature for getting married and making the decision not to have kids. I think it shows maturity that I recognize what I want and don’t want and don’t let other people tell me how to live my life!!!! What do you think?

What is good for your life is all you need to worry about. The opinions of others mean nothing. I am not having children either & something tells me that I might be thanked for this in the future. We are overly populated as it is.

Why do people want so many kids anyway? They need to look at their motivation for that. What is the purpose? In my opinion it’s usually selfish. They want entertainment for themselves, maybe they’re bored, maybe they worry about who will help them to die when they’re old. There are plenty of kids who are already born with no home & adoption is a much better way to go. Save someone who is already here.

It’s not immature to not want children. It’s looking at the bigger picture. What can kids provide you with? What’s the point? To carry on my husband’s name? To play with?
