Is there a way to get free land in Texas or anywhere in the United States?
I am getting old and failed to prepare myself for my future. I don’t have any real money other than enough to live and raise my kids. I have never been on any assistance programs. I have always worked very hard for what I have, which isn’t much after all the bills. So I am trying to find a place to be when I can no longer work like I do now. My body is getting tired and I can tell that I am not the same as I used to be. If anyone has an insight on how to attain at least enough land to build a house please respond.

Man, I can tell from your post that you are serious, and I am hoping that no one (else) will make a joke of it, but there are a lot of silly people out there… <
Anyway, there is such a thing as a “reverse mortgage.” I would not advise trying to build a home, it is very costly, and I am unsure that you could do such a thing without having some capital to work with. However, with a reverse mortgage, you may be able to purchase a home, and actually live there without making payments, and possibly having money come back to YOU.
Reverse mortgages are something that my company is starting to look into, but we are not offering them yet. You can look up more information about them on the Fannie Mae website, and I am sure that the next bunch of posts will be with solicitations on how to get one.
Be careful and read up on them. My knowledge is limited at this point, so I will not try to educate you on them, but I will say that the program is not set up for someone who hopes to leave a family home to heirs!
Okay, enough said. Do your research. Be careful who you work with. If you can spare some money, see a financial specialist who can help you to make the most educated decisions for you and your kid’s future.
