Trouble with mantainenace, management company for apartment?
So I live in Chicago and I moved to a nice little studio apartment. Upon moving in, i notice 3 tiles were missing from my shower wall. I tell the “building engineer” about this and how I want it fixed. He says , “Okay i’ll be back in a few hours. will you be here?” Never comes back. This same process has happened eight different times. i repeat eight different times. So finally fed up, I call the management company and tell them the same thing. I tell them that water seeps through the wall and causes a funky smell which makes me feel sick. This is really making me agitated. The management company ignores me as well. They say they will talk to my building engineer, light a fire under his ass and nothing ever happens. I don’t want to hire an attorney unless its the last resort, but at the same time, I dont wanna be sick from this issue. I’m a tenant who has the right to get their dang shower fixed!
Stop making calls regarding the problem. Send them a certified/return receipt request letter outlining what you need repaired.
