Spring Break Trip legal concerns?
A friend and I are planning a ski trip for spring break. We will be taking mostly 18yr olds but there are a few 17yr olds. We are concerned that if someone gets hurt, that they or parents might want to sue us for something or other. I mean they are all our friends, but you never know and we don’t want to take any chances, and someone almost always gets hurt when skiing.
Should we get some kind of consent or release of liability form? If so, WHERE can I find one for free? We live in Kansas, and are traveling to Colorado to ski. Thanks!
You would be liable, considering your age, but it just depends on your states laws. GOOGLE! Check online for Kansas state laws, but I’m pretty sure the 17 yr olds would need consent from their parents. I would be careful driving as well. You don’t want to mess with an angry parent if their child was injured. Like a lioness and her cubs…
