Irish man living in London getting married in Nanning China?
I’m an Irish man living in London. I wish to get married to a Chinese lady in Nanning. I went to the Irish embassy with a statutory declaration and they prepared a Certificate of Non-Impediment complete with an Irish government stamp but the registrar in Nanning wants a stamp form the Chinese embassy in London. the Chinese embassy in London want a stamp from the British foreign and commonwealth office. The British foreign and commonwealth office will not legalise a document issued by a foreign government. my next step will be to try the Chinese embassy in Dublin. Any ideals please

If getting married in Nanning is proving to be a bureaucratic nightmare, then you have other options. I suggest getting married in Hong Kong where there are no administrative hoops to jump through. You file for a Hong Kong marriage license, bring copies of your identity papers, and wait about 2 weeks. If no one objects to the marriage within 2 weeks, then then you can be married by a city official. Fast, easy, done.
You can go back to Nanning for the celebrations, banquet, firecrackers, etc. Just get the marriage certificate from Hong Kong.
