Living Will Florida Statute

written up for not working past 40 hours?
I got written up for leaving 2 hours early at the end of the work week this past week. when I check the hours that I work last week I worked exactly 40 hours. We had innovatory this last week too which I stayed 2 extra hours to help out. the reason for me leaving 2 hours early. The manager over me is stating that he could fire me for job abandonment for not finishing my scheduled shift. management has been complaining that the store is over budget on payroll and is asking everyone thats hourly to do their best to stay within 40 hrs hours. I have always been told that this is illegal but I can’t find any good worthwhile sites that will state what state statute supports me or my employer. what does everyone think and were is a good website to go to that will give references to laws to back their statement up. And I live and work in Florida.
Here’s an idea…get out of a “right to work” state and then you won’t have BS laws to deal with. Last time I checked…40 hours was a standard work week with overtime NOT being mandatory. Noone can force you to work overtime no way, no how! But you can thank GW’s policies for work due to the “comp time” for overtime and the fact that the Secretary of Labor won’t fight for the American worker!?
