Living Will Information In Texas
i have a question. where do i get emanicpated? arizona? here two weeks or texas lived there about 15 years?
okay my parents made me move down here to arizona from texas about two, three weeks ago. now i don’t know where im supposed to get emancipated? i talked to a lady at my school here in arizona and she said i need to find out if im a resident of arizona or not. but im not sure because my legal guardians which are my parents live in texas still. so im not sure where or what rules to follow and im not sure where else to look ive been trying on the internet but not much luck yet. if someone could please let me know if you have any information for me or someone to call or something in that nature please. oh im a seventeen year old female currently a senior. i want to get emancipated as soon as possible because of my grades and im moving too much as it is. please any information will help. thank you.
First of all, to be emancipated anywhere, you need to prove that you can support yourself without state aid or living with someone. That alone is tough. If your parents object, you’ll probably need a lawyer.
Texas looks to be much easier than AZ.
To establish residency in AZ — Not sure if you can establish residency apart from your parents if you aren’t emancipated. For divorce, it’s 90 days.
My nephew started the process in PA starting at 16, and he turned 18 long before it would have been resolved through the court.
My advice — wait out the year until you are 18, or negotiate something with your parents.
