living will legally binding
I am the executor of a will. Am I legally responsible to pay for funeral expenses from personal funds?

Aunt died today. Had under $600 in her personal checking account. I am the executor of her will. Am I legally bound to use my personal funds to pay for her funeral services? If she has no money to pay fully for them, who pays? She lived 6 hours from where I live now, there is NO county morgue in her city, and her body was transported to a local funeral home. The director said I had to make a decision what to do with her body by 5 PM today. I told him to prepare her for cremation and said I needed to check to see if I am responsible personally for paying for all her expenses.

Thanks,
Kenneth

No. What bills can be paid from the estate are paid. There may not be anything left for survivors but you are not responsible either.
