In Ireland will I be means tested .?
I’m Irish and have lived and worked here all my life . I’m 61yrs old , married , I’m working part time for over 3 years , but now my hours have been cut down even more …can I claim and will I be means tested . If anyone can give me a brief outline as to what to expect …I would be more than grateful …I have never signed on in my life .
you need to go to your local civic centre and enquire.
They will guide you as to what you need to do.
Usually when your hours have been cut and you are below a certain wage they will top you up once your employer gives confirmation of your earnings.
you could be entitled to free medical and FIS .
You really need to visit with them and tell them your details though and they will guide you as to how to go about it.
That’s what they are paid for so go do it.
And you will be means tested so obviously you have no working children contributing to the household income.
