Living Will Papers To Print
How does a major newspaper get the print edition to its subscribers on the morning that it’s printed?
I’m considering subscribing to the print edition of the Wall Street Journal, but I live in a rural area, and I’m quite sure there is no paper delivery staff out here. I’d like to get news on the day that it’s relevant rather than 2 or 3 days later. How does this work, and will WSJ get it to me same-day?
A newspaper that is a “Morning Edition” is “beded” at around 10 pm with the first edition running off the presses a half hour later. This is the paper that is flown interstate and trucked to outlying rural areas.
The Second edition is “beded” around 12 midnight and this edition is sent to areas closer to the main city.
The third edition is “beded” around 1.30am and this is usually the “City Edition” which goes to the suburbs and the city news stands.
If there is a major story, and it must be exceptional, a fourth edition may be printed and that would reach the city news stands around 6-7 am with 8am being the latest
