Living Will Pennsylvania Form
Would I have to pay any taxes to MD if I worked there & lived in PA?
I am moving to Pennsylvania early next year and will still be working in Maryland. Will I have to pay any taxes to Maryland? People have told me they pay MD & PA taxes in this case, but I see on the state comptroller & revenue sites that these states have an agreement for people in this situation to just pay their taxes to their resident state(PA). Also, after I move, do I just fill out new tax forms at my employer? Thanks…
MD and PA have a reciprocal agreement and PA residents do not pay taxes to MD. Change your address with your employer and that should take care of it. If the change is not made, file your taxes early. Send in MD right away to get a refund for the part of the year you were a PA resident (I believe you have to attach a copy of the PA return). Then you will have $$ by 4/15 when you have to mail in the PA return to pay the tax for the part of the year you lived in PA.
