getting a car retitled?
just got a ford maverick for free but it has a salvage title how do i get it retitled back to a regular title? I live in pennsylvania and also would it better to get a classic plate for this car it is a 71? People have told me it will make your insurance cheaper but you cant drive the car at night then. thanks
You don’t get it retitled; a salvage title means it was wrecked so badly that it was totaled. A salvage title reflects this; changing it to a regular title would hide the fact of major damage to any prospectiver buyers.
Dunno about the classic plate thing; that’s one for the PA DMV office. Sounds like BS though.
Have you checked the car over thoroughly for damage and the repair done to that damage? It has it, though maybe not extensive. Doens’t take much to total a care that old (total means it costs more to fix it than it’s worth; doesn’t say anything about the extent of the damage, really).
