NJ Unemployment – weekly benefits questionnaire?
I live in NJ and am currently on unemployment. When filling out the weekly benefits questionnaire it asks if you have done self-employment work, but only asks how many hours you have worked.
This is separate from the part time work question that asks you up front how many hours and how much money you have made.
Why doesnt it ask you how much you made under self-employment and since it doesnt, will it come up later on at any time? Like on taxes?
Of course, calling them doesnt work since its always busy or they hang up on due to high call volume..
simple buddy. when you report your earnings for self employment, report that you earned them at the time you were previously employed. You will have to fill out a self employed tax form. Construction workers, plumbers, etc. do this all the time.
They will deduct what you make over 100 dollars from your unemployment benefits if you report your earnings during each weekly question page. (Indiana rules, im sure its the same as new jersey.)
