Living Will Registry

Parents who check the sex offender registry…?
…within what distance are you willing to live from a convicted offender?
(And yes, I do know that not all sex offenders are child rapists.)
I’m just curious b/c there seem to be so many offenders on the list! Knowing the info you can get off the registry, what are you willing to “work with” when deciding where to live?
Does the crime for which the person was convicted matter?
Or the distance?
Do you check other locations (such as your church/relatives’ homes/kids’ friends’ homes)?
Like I said-just curious.
*whoops-just saw Deans’ question.
I had answered the earlier question about safe neighborhoods and then thought about this.
I guess you’re asking me, Dread Head, so I’ll answer… No.
I am asking a question of parents who check the registry and rely on it. I wasn’t stating my personal opinion, nor did I say if I check the registry.
I think it’s a good idea to check and be aware but moving is kind of ridiculous because you could move and another one could move next door to your new place. Currently there are none (level 2 or 3) sex offenders in my town but they don’t have to give you info on level 1 offenders. And I live very close to a larger city that has thousands.
