Living Will Unnecessary

Will my kitten be okay when he’s separated from his brother?
My roommate and I recently rescued two 8-week old kittens. As of now, we don’t plan on splitting up as roommates any time soon. But its likely that within the next five years either one of us will get married or might have to move out for other reasons.
Our two kittens are brothers from the same litter and really enjoy each others company. They’ll sometimes curl up together to sleep and one will often meow if he can’t find the other.
When we do separate, will they be okay? I don’t want to cause any unnecessary emotional trauma for my kitty, but its highly improbable that my roommate and I will live together for the remainder of his lifetime.
Would it help for me to bring in another cat when we do separate? So he’ll have another friend to play with? I don’t want him to get depressed and lonely. Please advise!
More than likely they will be fine when eventually separated. I have 2 cats that are litter mates. We got them at about 10 weeks old. They acted a lot like your 2. They played, were inseparable and slept curled together. Now they are just over 3 years old and barely acknowledge each other. If they were to be separated for any reason, I really don’t think they would care.
