Living Will Zoo

When our Natural world keeps fast disappearing will we lose that sense of mysticism and connection with nature?
Forests and trees are been logged by greedy people who understand the meaning of only what money means and nothing else.
I read of an elephant in a zoo in australia gave birth to a baby elephant by means of IVF and how all the aussies are lining up at the zoo to see the little fellow.
But will future generations ever get a chance to see a herd of wild elephants in the jungles of africa, Burma or sri lanka?
Will they ever get a chance to see flocks of the paradise birs in papuan jungles ?
I had the luck of seen it all in the real natural world. But its fast dying out. With the death of the natural world dies that touch of deep mysticism which links us to nature.
Dont you think its so sad that future generations will be living and touching only concrete and not nature?
How depressing would that be?
I couldn’t agree with you more. I live in the country of a north eastern state in US. We have beautiful mountains, rivers and creeks. Much wildlife runs through my own back yard. Squirrels, rabbits, and deer, and even an occasional black bear travels through our area. When he’s spotted, a notice of warning that he’s back is posted. I’m even visited by wild turkeys, pheasants, geese, owls, and many other species of birds. However, I’m in a small development which had originally been quite a dense forest area and I’d travel out this way and walk along the small creek when I was much younger. You would find many Indian arrowheads along the way. A rope tied to a large tree branch allowed you to swing into the water to cool off on a hot summer’s day, to the chagrin of fishermen near by. So much had been cleared to make way for our homes. And even more for the two camp ground areas we have nearby. A large part of the Blue Mountain has been made into a ski area. And, if not for many pictures I have of my area from when I was younger, it would be unrecognizable today. There is still much wooded area around me, but, by the time my grand daughter grows up, what is left of this beautiful forested area will have to be seen in pictures I take today. We can still feel grass between our toes and watch butterflies and bees in our garden. But, it is changing fast. So my dear, it is not just Burma, Sri Lanka and Papuan jungles that are being changed, but, right in everyone’s back yards all over the world. But even my grand daughter asks, “Where are we all to live and what should we build our houses from? Where will all the people go?” What is it I should answer to that? I wish I had one for her. I can’t imagine her children never experiencing what you refer to as, the deep mysticism of nature either, because, depressing isn’t even the word..
