Will collections show up on my credit report.?
I have an agency asking me to pay full amount or settlement amount they have given me. The collection agency does not show up on my credit report at this time, will it as soon as I pay the settlement amount. Also the debt orginated in OH but I now live in North Carolina,and under North Carolina the statute of limitations has passed as I believe it is 3years in this state.
So should I ask for the collections to be taken off my report before I pay, even though they are not listed on my report. (Don’t want to ruffle and feathers if its not even being reported, they may start to report if I ask for a settlement)!?!
They are not calling just sending letters. Debt is 3.5 years old
I paid a debt that had been sent to collections and it didn’t show up on my credit report. I paid it right away when they sent the letter asking me to pay the full amount.
Make sure you get a receipt. A future lender might want proof that the debt has been paid in case it doesn’t get reported correctly.
