Does Bureau of Labor Statistics exaggerate job salary?

I mean if you go to this government site, it will give you the salary of each profession lowest, average, mean, highest…etc.
When I check my own profession or my friend’s profession, they don’t make as much as what the BLS said. We don’t even make the lowest 10% salary.
Are they lying, or I am just underpaid? We live in Columbus, Ohio. Is this the cost of living in Ohio too low?
Same here.
I hope that the fact that big cities like Chicago, Houston, NYC, and LA take a big chunk from these statistics.
We live rurally – and it’s depressing to see how much I’m supposed to make.
But I know that the cost of living here is super cheap.
