Child custoday questions?

OK 15 year old daughter, living in Kansas, with her ‘ex step father’, mother has been incarcerated for quite some time. Legal, biological father lives in Texas. The mother’s family keeps trying to take the girl out of the current living arrangement; she wants to stay there. The father has been sending temporary guardianship form every single month trying to keep maternal family from taking girl. The ex step-father cannot adopt her and will not do so anyway. Is the only option for her to come live with the biological father? Or is there another way to prevent the maternal family from having rights over the child? HELP please!

I think she will have to go and live with her biological father and then perhaps her paternal grandparents or Aunt’s and Uncle’s could step in…..If it were me I would want to go and live with me dad…
